Who Are We And What We Do
Walsall Black Sisters Collective (WBSC) was established in 1986 to support women of colour in Walsall who were facing multiple injustices, loneliness, and isolation. The organisation aimed to provide them with a better quality of life through training, advice and guidance, sisterhood, and childcare. Over the years, WBSC has evolved in response to the changing needs of the community, expanding its remit to support all individuals facing disadvantages, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
WBSC has been dedicated to serving the local community by offering a range of vital services, with a particular focus on Black women. We provide women’s empowerment services, including guided coffee mornings, learning opportunities, and counselling support. Our health and social care services offer crisis support, and advice and guidance to those in need.
What sets WBSC apart is our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive space for all. We place a strong emphasis on diversity, gender awareness, and cultural sensitivity.
